ALOHA FRIDAY

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So here on Fridays we're taking it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’m asking a simple question for you to answer & nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at the very friendly place of Islandlife808.com. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends and find new followers!

My question is: How did your husband propose?

My husband was going to be going to Afghanistan to be working for a private company for a year and when he got back, we were going to get married. Well he only lasted 21 days there (long story short--he was scared and homesick, but didn't want to admit it!!!) So we are sitting on the couch one night and he said "are you going to marry me or what?" I know, I know--how romantic!!! He spent the money he was supposed to use to buy the ring on a gun, so I had to wait a couple more weeks to get my ring.

  1. 4th of July weekend 10 year ago, TechyDad was here visiting. The AC was broken at my parent's house and I had fallen asleep on the couch. He went to ask my parents permission. The following day we went miniature golfing and were going to have a nice dinner out. It was Sunday and the place we wanted to go to closed early. After a quick dinner at Friendly's we went for a walk under the stars (I had protested before) and then he got down on one knee and popped the question. By this time the entire area and all my family knew it was coming - I was the last to know!

  2. I'm not sure I even remember. We had planned it together.

  4. It wasn't anything romantic. We had been talking about it for a while and we just decided to get engaged while sitting at the kitchen counter.

  5. Well, maybe not the most romantic proposal but definitely unexpected, right?

Tim proposed to me on the beach in Jamaica when we were on vacation. I had planned on breaking up with him when we returned home if he hadn't proposed (long story...7 years of dating, my ovaries rotting, you know the rest) and then on that last night, we were standing on the beach and he proposed. Nothing romantic or getting on one knee...he just simply said, "so do you wanna spend the rest of your life with me?"

  6. We were next door neighbors as kids. Didn't get together until 30 years later. he proposed on Valentines Day on a cruise ship. It was almost Midnight, I was starting to get a bit pissed off that I couldn't show off some bling before midnight, but he pulled it off in true Greg fashion!
